The Millionaire Mentality

Like it or not, there is a thing that can be called The Millionaire Mentality. There is a frame of mind which puts an individual a long way ahead on the road to success.J. Paul GettyThis quote has been so overused that most people now ignore it.But for me…It’s an essential principle for what it takes to break free from the quicksand and become all you want to be… whether in commerce, music or art.I’m a bit of a late bloomer—I didn’t start my first company until I was 43. Fifteen years later, I’m now on my 4th.The first 3 sold for more than $250 million. The 4th will be somewhere between zero and a billion. What people don’t realize, however, is that I wasn’t an overnight success…But that doesn’t mean I wasn’t prepared for it.I spent years preparing mentally for entrepreneurial success. Before that, I was a career success and I prepared for that, too, in the same way.A millionaire mentality does not come after success—it comes before.I grew up poor and, trust me, there’s no salvation in it.I wanted to get out of that quicksand… and I found my motivation to do it in the inspiring biographies of the many successful business leaders, adventurers, and artists that I read as a teenager hanging out in the local library. Not surprisingly, I discovered they had common mentalities. I decided to mimic them and before long…I became just like them.Sarah Stanley Fallaw, director of research for the Affluent Market Institute discovered much the same thing as I did when she studied over 600 millionaires for her book, The Next Millionaire Next Door: Enduring Strategies for Building Wealth. You can read the biographies yourself (and I recommend that you do because that’s also a common trait of the successful)…But you can also read Mentality Mondays which, as the title suggests, will come directly to your inbox each Monday. The idea is to provide you with bite-size tips that can set you up for a better week—a week in which you will change your mentality to align with the one you need for success. There’s a catchphrase ‘Fake it until you make it,’ but I prefer to say:

Fake it until you become it.

To ‘become it’, you have to mimic the mentality and behaviors of those who have achieved success. Why am I doing this?I want you to be inspired so much that you buy my courses and transform your life. There’s no greater feeling than financial independence…And I want to share that experience with you.

Cheers,

Trevor
